Some Intricacies of the English language

- Ja, ich habe sie schon gelesen Warum?
- Ich habe dir schon mindestens zwanzigmal gesagt, daß
ich es hasse, wenn deine Sachen hier überall in der ganzen
Wohnung verstreut liegen.
- Oh, du bist das schon, wieder!
- Bist du schon einmal in den USA gewesen?
- Ja, ich bin schon mal dort gewesen.
- Er weiß schon, warum ich heute gekommen bin.
Ich habe nämlich ein Hühnchen mit ihm zu rupfen.
- Stell dir vor, ich mußte heute morgen, schon
um 5 Uhr aufstehen!
- Was, schon so früh!? Das ist ja eine unmenschliche
Zeit!
- Ist der Briefträger heute schon da gewesen?
- Nein, es ist noch nicht da gewesen;
- Ist das Museum schon geöffnet? Ja, heute ist es
ausnahmsweise schon geöffnet
- Nein, es ist noch nicht geöffnet.
- Was, du bist schon fertig mit deinen Hausaufgaben!

- Arbeitet dein Vater immer noch in der alten Firma?
- Ich glaube, er versteht immer noch nicht.
- Die Leute, die hier leben, sind zwar arm aber ehrlich.
- Er war zwar kein Wunderkind, aber außerordentlich
talentiert.
- Die Schreibweise von "catalog/ue" ist verschieden,
wobei jedoch die kürzere (amerikanische) Form immer
mehr den Vorzug bekommt. Der israelische Vorschlag wurde zurückgewiesen,
wobei die USA sich unter den Staaten befand, die dagegen
stimmten.
- Sag mir bitte mal, wie ich mich auf meine Arbeit konzentrieren
soll, wenn du die ganze Zeit hier herumhüpfst?
- Die Fabrik stellt keine Fahrräder mehr
her.
- Die DDR besteht nicht mehr.
- Seit wann rauchst du nicht mehr?
- Es, muß wohl gute Gründe für das amerikanische
Gefühl der Überlegenheit geben - denke ich mal!

- Sag mal, warum kommst du eigentlich ständig zu
spät?
- Die Preise steigen immer weiter.

großen Unterschied zwischen Theorie und Praxis.

Why
