What is brass?
Is brass a pure metal or a metal mixture (melange, mix-up, mix, blend). What (not: which [limited number]) features (properties) does it have?
Brass denotes (stands for, signifies, is the term for, [designates?]) yellow metal alloys (made) of copper and zinc. Alloys are mixtures of different metals, whose properties alter (vary, change) depending on (according, depending on, in accordance with, as per) the mixing ratio. Besides (additionally, moreover) several kinds of brass contain smaller amounts of other metals such as lead turning (rendering, making) brass soft and ductile. Aluminium or tin, however (in contrast, on the other hand), account for (provide, deliver, supply, cater for) hardness and moreover prevent the alloy from tarnishing. In order to get brass with higher bending strength (if brass with higher bending strength is aimed at ...) nickel, manganese or iron are added. This alloy's advantage: Brass is cheaper than copper. This explains its broad industrial application. Besides, it is decorative and is easily worked (to be processed). Brass can be cast (is castable), rolled, pulled (drawn) to wire and soldered.
